Bushing Tools & Bushings

Most clock repairs involve bushing worn pivot holes.  Worn pivot holes cause the clock to stop.  The geared wheels move away from their centers, resulting in binding of the teeth.  
Clock bushing involves:

  1. Finding the true center of the worn pivot hole.

  2. Determining the correct replacement KWM bushing and the proper reamer to use.

  3. Centering and reaming out the old bushing

  4. Pressing in the new KWM bushing.  Using the proper size replacement bushing will ensure the pivot fits correctly and the wheel will have the correct endshake.

KWM Type Bushing Tool- Designed to be used with KWM bushings, a total system for replacing worn bushings (bearings) in all kinds of clocks, meters and clockwork mechanisms. the bushing tool provides a precision bushing replacement, yet it is simple to use. The gauge (#CB24540, sold separately) is used to determine the correct KWM bushing and the size of the reamer to use. Center and ream out the old bushing and press in the new bushing. The new bushing fits the pivot correctly and the wheel will have the correct endshake. The dense cast iron base eliminates the need for mounting or attachment plates, provides extra stability and years of heavy duty use. Adjusting the plate centering mechanism is easy, and all attachments fit with just simple push and turn insertion so no extra tools are needed.

Bergeon Clock Bushing Tool- Repair and reset bushings into clock plates quickly and easily. A bed with two sliding arms fitted with clamping screws allows the plate being worked to be held firmly in a horizontal position. Once this is done, it's very simple to get the perfect center. Allows for the bushing of plates from 50 to 220 mm, with a pillar height of 70 mm. Includes:
