Stop-Off Materials

One way to plate selectively,  is to cover the area that is to remain unplated with a "stop-off" material.  The stop-off is removed after plating is finished.  Two typical stop-off materials are beeswax and lacquer.

Beeswax- 

Easily applied after melting.  Removes by dipping plating item in hot water. 1 oz stick in tube
