Mill Files- Used when a smooth finish is required. Many applications include sharpening saws and tools, finishing metal, lathe work, draw filing and general workshop use. This file tapers slightly in width.  All sides are single cut.  Swiss made except rounded edge, which are made in the US.  Single cut.

Flat Files- The Flat file is most often used by machinists, machinery builders and repair personnel when rapid material removal is required.  Double cut on top and bottom but single cut on sides.  Files taper in width and thickness.  Swiss made except files without an "S" suffix.

Aluminum, Type A, Flat Files- The Aluminum Flat file is effective in eliminating clogging due to its special tooth construction.  It was developed for use on soft material, such as aluminum.  Tapers in thickness and width. Double cut bottom and top but single cut on sides.  US made.

Aluminum, Type A, Half-Round Files- The Aluminum Flat file eliminates chip clogging.  This file was designed for soft materials, such as aluminum.  The half round of the file allows modification of concave surfaces and holes.   Tapers in thickness and width. High Speed Chip Breaker Files- Features 2 sets of chipbreakers, forming a diamond pattern.  The High Speed chipbreaker reduces chip clogging and generates a smooth finish.  The coarse teeth remove metal quickly.  This file can also be used on cast iron, bronze, brass and plastics.  Diamond pattern cut top and bottom, both edges are single cut.  Made in USA.
