Steam Dewaxing

Invented by Shor in the late 1960's, steam dewaxing has proven to be a very useful tool to:

  1. Significantly reduce burnout time
  2. Almost completely eliminate all the smoke and smell associated with burnout
  3. Produce smoother castings.

Prior to placing flasks in a burnout oven, place the flasks in a steam dewaxer.   In 45-60 minutes, 95% of the wax is removed from the flasks.  The wax is collected in the water and is easily removed when the water cools.  Returns subject to a 15% restocking charge.
